Overview
TD Bank Financial Group, one of the largest banks in Canada and owner of TD Waterhouse, released their new on-line banking and brokerage site. This site, is the culmination of a strategic site design effort by Scient bringing together several aspects of the domestic Canadian business.
The site utilizes an "account forward" user interface design. It was developed on the existing content by Scient to integrate the offerings of the retail bank and the brokerage businesses. The TD Canada Trust brand is the retail bank while the TD Waterhouse brand is the self directed brokerage business. By combining the content of the two businesses, that share many customers, the site creates seamless financial management for both banking and brokerage customers and an effective platform for cross selling.
Additionally, these sites establish first use of the brand identity standards developed by Scient. The standards are for use on all of the firm’s public sites and establish a navigation framework for all of the other bank sites so that users will get a familiar experience across lines of business.
